Prayer intentions - 12/2025

Prayer Intentions of the Pope

Each month the Pope invites all members of the Church to pray for particular needs. This month the Prayer Intentions of the Pope are:

For Christians in areas of conflict
Let us pray that Christians living in areas of war or conflict, especially in the Middle East, might be seeds of peace, reconciliation, and hope.

Needs of the Church, the Congregation and the world

Join with us in praying for the needs of the Church, the Congregation and the world, in particular for:

SIGNIFICANT ANNIVERSARIES AND FEAST DAYS IN THE MARIST FAMILY

8 Dec:   FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION  (Preparation by community prayer – Const. 140)

8 Dec:   Canonical erection of the Third Order of Mary in Lyon (1850)

30 Dec:  Pontifical Approbation Missionary Sisters of the Society of Mary (1931)

(Suggested date for community renewal of vows, Const. 62)

Date and place unknown: Anniversary of the death of Sr Marie de la Merci (Marie Josephine Adelaide Meissonier, France)

SMSM INTENTIONS:

We remember our Sisters celebrating Jubilees this year and thank God for the graces they have received in their Marist missionary lives:

60 YEARS

Sr. Malia 'Atonina Lafaele 8th December 1965 USA

Let us continue to remember in our prayers:

  • Our elderly sisters, relatives and friends and those we know who are terminally ill.
  • Those in formation at all stages that they may be open to grow in the spirit of Mary for the sake of the Kingdom.
  • Those who have died recently-our sisters, loved ones and those who have died alone and forgotten.
  • Peace in countries at war and an end to escalating violence and lawlessness in cities and towns.
  • Ourselves that as we recall the anniversary of Marie-Francoise Perroton's departure for Oceania we may be instruments of unity and reconciliation, willing to go beyond our comfort zones and bearers of hope.
  • The protection of children and the vulnerable and those who strive to promote a culture of human dignity and respect.
