Perpetual Vows of Sister Esther N'Sanda in Jamaica

Sister Esther N’Sanda made her perpetual vows in Montego Bay, Jamaica on 15 June. Sister is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congoand made her novitiate in Senegal. In 2009 she was sent by the congregation to serve in Jamaica.

She writes:

8 years ago I became a Missionary Sister of the Society of Mary. During this time I have had many experiences in the different countries where I have been sent to serve the people. After several years I decided to make my perpetual vows, which means that I asked my superiors to allow me to live forever as a Missionary Sister of the Society of Mary. Making perpetual vows is like getting married, the difference is that I am committed to Jesus within the Congregation.

While joyful, I was also a little sad because my family was not able to be present to share this joyful/special time. But when I looked around, I could not stop myself from rejoicing at the sight of numerous other mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters given to me by our God. I was overwhelmed with thanksgiving to our God who has given me many graces and blessings in these 8 years of SMSM life. I continue to trust in God who is faithful so that the work begun in me may continue. May Mary, His mother and my mother, continue to guide me wherever the Congregation sends me.
