Historic gathering for smsm archivists
Seven sisters from around the smsm world gathered at our General House in Rome from 5 – 9 August 2019 for the first ever meeting of smsm archivists.
Why have such a meeting for those in this ministry?
We SMSM have a rich collection of stories about sisters in mission: beginnings and endings, activities and events, highs and lows that form our journey as Missionary, Marist and Religious, and reflect our identity. In our meeting each shared the ways this information showing the life of the congregation has been recorded and preserved. This time was valuable as we heard and saw what each region is doing and what materials are in each area. We recognize how each sister present loves the congregation and wants to preserve our story for the future.
As we move into the future we will pursue the possibility of further digitalization.
