Prayer intentions - 07/2025

Prayer Intentions of the Pope

Each month the Pope invites all members of the Church to pray for particular needs. This month the Prayer Intentions of the Pope are:

For formation in discernment.

Let us pray that we might again learn how to discern, to know how to choose paths of life and reject everything that leads us away from Christ and the   Gospel.

Needs of the Church, the Congregation and the world

Join with us in praying for the needs of the Church, the Congregation and the world, in particular for:

SIGNIFICANT ANNIVERSARY DAYS AND FEAST DAYS IN THE MARIST FAMILY

July 12     Anniversary of the death of Sr Marie de la Paix,  (Marie Virginie Jacquier – Ile des Pins, New Cal. 1896)

July 23     Anniversary of the Promise of Fourviere

July 26     St Joachim and St Anne

SMSM INTENTIONS: Let us remember in our prayers:

  • The consultations for Regional Administrations and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our discernment.
  • SMSM waiting for visas to take up their new appointments.
  • Our formators, novices and postulants as they walk together in a synodal manner discerning God's call in their lives.
  • For SMSM in transition, our elderly and those with serious health problems.
  • For SMSM students and those participating in courses and ongoing formation at this time and the upcoming LTSR.
  • World peace especially in the Middle East, Ukraine, Sudan, Myanmar.
  • Women and girls facing violations of human dignity, especially from sexual violence used as a weapon of war.
  • The unborn that their rights be recognized and honoured and those who courageously advocate for them be supported.
  • Our planet earth that its precious resources on land and sea be protected.
  • The communities that strive to create spaces of welcome, silence and stillness in the midst of a troubled world be appreciated and their value recognized.
  • Our families especially those with aged and sick members, our benefactors and all who do us good.
