Prayer intentions - 05/2024

Prayer Intentions of the Pope

Each month the Pope invites all members of the Church to pray for particular needs. This month the Prayer Intentions of the Pope are:

For the formation of religious and seminarians

We pray that religious women and men, and seminarians, grow in their own vocations through their human, pastoral, spiritual and community formation, leading them to be credible witnesses to the Gospel.

Needs of the Church, the Congregation and the world

Join with us in praying for the needs of the Church, the Congregation and the world, in particular for:

SMSM INTENTIONS:

  • For those in formation and particularly our postulants, novices and formators that they may joyfully collaborate in growing in the spirit of Mary.
  • For our sick, frail and elderly sisters that they may receive care, comfort and understanding from those around them.
  • For our recently deceased sisters, family members and friends that they may now enjoy the fullness of life in the Kingdom and consolation for those who mourn for them.
  • For Sr Cristina and her Council, Regionals and their Councils that they may work in a spirit of synodality searching for the common good and seeking to respond to the challenges of today.
  • For our benefactors that they may receive in abundance blessings and graces for their generosity and kindness.
  • That we may go beyond our comfort zones to the peripheries to advance the promotion of human dignity, solidarity and human society.

Let us continue to remember in our prayers:

  • The 2024 Talitha Kum General Assembly which takes place in Rome in the month of May.May this conference lead to the greater protection of vulnerable people from trafficking.
  • Women and children trapped in situations of abuse and violence that they may receive help to build new lives and receive healing from traumas experienced.
  • The young people of today that they may be agents of peace and harmony using their energy and spirit to build a world of beauty and care for all.
  • Those who labour to protect the natural world and to raise awareness of the inherent beauty and value of all living things.
  • That governments, international organizations and communities work together to provide assistance and long-term solutions for refugees and the displaced persons of the world.
