On April 12, 2026, we had the joy of welcoming our Superior General, Sister Cristina Giustozzi, on a canonical visit to the Francophone Novitiate of Keur Aleka.

It was for us a very important moment, an experience of growth in our journey as SMSM novices. We experienced this through the community life she shared with us in simplicity, but also through the various encounters. We are grateful for her availability and for having been able to strengthen some of our classes with her at the house, despite her busy schedule.

She also honoured us with her presence at the inter-novitiate, where she was able to appreciate the richness of intercongregational formation within the Church in Senegal.

On April 19, there was an assembly with all the sisters present in Senegal. The day began with a Mass celebrated by Father Steve Youm SM, followed by a shared meal, and then a presentation introducing the congregation through a rich exposition.

Sister Cristina also found time in her schedule to visit the sisters in their respective communities!

She spent only a short time with us, but it was truly full and enriching!

On April 26, she left for Rwanda and then Burundi!

Thank you Sister Cristina, your visit will leave a lasting mark on our journey.
