The Sisters in Peru, together with the Regional and her Council, gathered from 12th to 15th February for their Annual Assembly. It was a blessed time of communion, reflection, and shared discernment.

“Renewing Our Hearts To Renew Our Consecration And Mission” was the main theme of the SMSM 2026 assembly in Lima, Peru. For me, as a member of the Regional Council team, it has been a great joy to share with each of the sisters not only the time of meetings and celebrations but also all the preparation that this type of event requires.

Our reflections on the challenges and opportunities of missionary and Marist religious life included, among other aspects, the call to care for our common home and the protection of minors and vulnerable people.

Together, we renewed our commitment to living our consecration and mission in the context of small communities in a country affected by political instability. We became aware, once again, that the apostolate, although urgent and necessary, should not absorb all our time to the detriment of our community life.
