Enlarged General Council Meeting, Rome, 23 September – 1 October 2012

“What are you discussing as you walk along?” These words of Jesus to the disciples on the road to Emmaus set the theme for the day of reflection which began the Enlarged General Council, 2012 in Rome.

The image of setting out on a continuing journey united Provincials and Mission District Leaders who gathered with the Leadership team to discern the next steps on our process of reorganisation of structures for mission.

As Sister Georgeanne Marie reminded us in her opening address: “We come together as women of faith, trust, hope and courage, enfolded in Love and called to love. I pray that these gifts of God will empower us to “welcome the unexpected” and embrace “the new” that God desires for us all through a renewed outpouring of the Holy Spirit.”
