Saturday 20th June was a lovely sunny day for the first profession of Sr Ruth Nibai from Bougainville in Papua New Guinea. The profession was held at 2pm in the parish church at Manurewa, New Zealand and afterwards refreshments were served in the parish hall. The novitiate has only been located in Manurewa since the beginning of the year so this was the first time for a first profession to be held in the parish. Those present at the profession included Sr Ruth's cousin Lydia who lives in New Zealand, friends Ruth had made at her various ministries, parishioners and many SMSM.
At the end of the liturgy, Sr Ruth was missioned to Bougainville where she will work alongside Sr Jennifer Laku as well as complete her Year 12 studies.
